Kigali, April 19, 2026, Der Sprachen Hub German Language Academy is playing a leading role in expanding access to internationally recognized German language certification in Rwanda, responding to a growing demand for global education and employment opportunities.
During a recent certificate awarding ceremony in Kigali, candidates who successfully passed the European Consortium for the Certificate of Attainment in Modern Languages (ECL) exams at A2, B1, B2, and C1 levels were recognized, marking a significant milestone in their academic and professional journeys.
Since obtaining official authorization to administer ECL exams in December 2025, the academy has addressed a long-standing gap by enabling candidates to access certification locally. Previously, many learners were required to travel abroad to sit for exams, facing high costs and delays.
Demand has grown rapidly. Following an initial session in February 2026, participation significantly increased in April, with the number of candidates doubling and overall interest tripling. The introduction of the A2 level has further widened access to beginner learners.
Beyond Rwanda, the academy is attracting candidates from across the region, including Burundi, Uganda, Cameroon, and Zimbabwe, as well as interest from Kenya and Tanzania, reinforcing Kigali’s role as an emerging hub for German language certification.
Learners emphasized that success requires commitment, structured training, and consistent preparation, supported by access to quality learning resources and experienced instructors.
At the same time, the academy has cautioned against unqualified institutions that mislead learners with unrealistic promises, underscoring the importance of maintaining high training standards.
With registration ongoing for the next ECL examination session scheduled for June 12–13, 2026, the academy continues to strengthen Rwanda’s position as a gateway to international opportunities through German language proficiency.
